Whilst we were closed in January, we were busy with our Winter refurbishments (apparently this is what guest house owners call “having a rest”!). We have now completed the first phase. This year, we’ve focussed on the two largest rooms, Room 3 and Room 5.
Room 3 has been completely redecorated in a grey theme with saffron relief. It has also had new carpet, curtains, lighting, comfy seats, soft furnishings, headboards, bedside cabinets and a new larger TV. There is also a completely new bathroom, which was installed before Christmas (see here for more details).
We have tried to modernise the room a little bit, but without losing that comfortable “home from home” feel that we know our guests appreciate. We have also re-arranged the room slightly in order to give better access to the west-facing window so that you can get the most from the sweeping views towards Maiden Castle and Hardy’s Monument.
Room 3 is available with a superking double or full-sized twin beds. It costs just £79 per night for two people with our usual full breakfast choice until Easter.
Room 5 has also been completely redecorated. We’ve kept the red theme in this room, but softened it a little. This room has received new carpet, curtains, blinds, comfy seats and table, soft furnishings, headboards, changed bedside cabinets and a new larger TV. The bathroom in this room has not been upgraded yet, but is on our list for later in the year.
We have replaced the old sofa with two comfy chairs to give better flexibility for enjoying the outside view or watching TV or just sitting and relaxing with a cuppa. Again, we’ve tried to modernise the room but without losing that all-important “home from home” comfort.
Room 5 is available with a superking double or full-sized twin beds. It is also available for 3 people with an extra full-size bed or for 4 with a fourth full-size bed. (However, note that the comfy chairs need to be removed to make room for the 4th bed.) The room is available for just £79 per night for two people with full breakfast until Easter.
