AQUILA HEIGHTS GUEST HOUSE – NEWSLETTER, WINTER 2017

You are receiving this email as a previous or future guest of Aquila Heights. If you do not wish to hear from us occasionally (every 2-3 months) please let us know and we will remove you from our mailing list.

2017 BOOKINGS NOW BEING TAKEN

We are receiving a steady stream of bookings every day for Spring and Summer. There is still plenty of space at this stage, but if you need specific dates we recommend that you have a quick look at the booking diary on our website as some popular dates are filling up.

WINTER IMPROVEMENTS

We were closed for four weeks in January, but we didn’t have much time to relax as there was plenty of redecoration and refurbishment to be done!

Room 3 Double

Room 3 was our first priority. This room has now been redecorated in grey and yellow, with new carpet, comfy seats, soft furnishings, bedding and a new much larger TV. This room also has a completely new bathroom.

Room 5 Double

We’ve also been working in Room 5, which also has been completely redecorated and similarly has new carpet, comfy seats, soft furnishings, bedding and a new TV.

These rooms (set up as either super king size doubles or twins) are available for only £79 per night for two people including breakfast up until Easter, so do let us know if you fancy an early Spring break down to Dorset (there are no guarantees, but we have been having some lovely weather!).

EXTRA BEDS IN ROOM 5

The refurbishment also gives us a chance to offer Room 5 as a family (or multi-adult) room. We can now accommodate an extra one or two beds in this room, giving a maximum capacity of four people. All beds are full size with proper matrresses. We charge £20 for each additional guest, including breakfast. Note that the seating area has to be removed to accommodate the fourth bed.

WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING IN DORCHESTER?

We’ve been having an exceptional winter in Dorset, with a large number of clear blue sky days. It’s been quite chilly, but now the temperature is warming up, the days are getting longer and the Dorset spring is in the air.

There has been a lot of excitement that Dippy is coming to town in 2018! The Diplodocus skeleton, a centrepiece at the National History Museum in London for many years, is going on tour with the first stop here at the Dorset County Museum from 10th February until May 2018.

The plans for the new arts centre and purpose-built theatre in the old Maltings on Brewery Square have been unveiled and the funding is applied for – what an asset that will be for the town.

East Cliff, West Bay

Further afield, Weymouth has been voted No 1 beach in the UK on TripAdvisor and Broadchurch, set in nearby West Bay (pictured), started on ITV on Monday 27th February for eight weeks. Spot the locations and then come down later in the year to see them in real life!

A 10 Star B&B
This guest house is amazing, Perfect is every way. Friendly and helpful owners. The breakfast choice is unbelievable something for everyone whatever their tastes. In walking distance of the town, buses and railway stations. Very near a good choice of eateries for the evening meals. An excellent base for exploring Dorset after a good nights sleep.
